HBM TEDS Editor is a desktop utility from Hottinger Baldwin Messtechnik GmbH (HBM) that helps engineers create, edit, and program Transducer Electronic Data Sheet (TEDS) information for sensors and transducers. By writing standard-compliant TEDS data directly to a sensor’s memory, it enables plug-and-play identification and automatic channel setup in compatible data acquisition systems, reducing configuration time and setup errors.

Key capabilities:

  • Create and edit TEDS records compliant with IEEE 1451.4, including base and calibration data
  • Read, modify, and write TEDS information on supported sensors via compatible HBM interfaces
  • Populate essential sensor metadata such as type, manufacturer, model, serial number, sensitivity, units, and calibration dates
  • Validate entries and calculate checks to help prevent invalid or incomplete TEDS records
  • Reuse and adapt templates for common sensor types (strain gauge, force, pressure, acceleration, torque, and more)
  • Import and export TEDS data for documentation, backup, or duplication across sensors

Typical use cases:

  • Speeding up sensor integration in test benches and field measurements
  • Ensuring consistent sensor documentation and traceability in calibration labs
  • Minimizing manual scaling and unit conversion in DAQ software

HBM TEDS Editor is designed for use with HBM instrumentation and other IEEE 1451.4–compatible systems. Writing or reading TEDS data may require supported HBM data acquisition modules or dedicated TEDS programming hardware.

HBM TEDS Editor is developed by Hottinger Baldwin Messtechnik GmbH and is used by 3 users of Software Informer. The most popular versions of this product among our users are: 3.0, 3.2, 3.4 and 3.5. The name of the program executable file is HBM_TEDS_Editor.exe.
